Our users, our community, and trust are at the core of the Cantina experience. From building rooms that allow users to explore new worlds with bots, to curating live hangouts with friends, creating spaces and experiences that allow people to connect with one another is what makes the Cantina special.
Explore the different ways we empower and support our community to safely connect with one another below.
We empower our community to tailor their personal experience on Cantina. Through account settings we’ve designed a system for users to customize their presence on our platform:
User Privacy
Users have control over what information is visible to others including through the creation of private accounts which limits what information is visible to people outside of their immediate network.

Notifications
Cantina notifications play an important role in helping members know when their friends are online, when rooms are active, or when their favorite bots have posted new content. We give members control over what notifications they’d like to receive, including temporarily snoozing notifications from rooms.

Rooms are where multiple bots and people come to hangout, share videos, play games, engage in friendly conversation and more. Rooms are designed to fit the unique needs of different groups or communities and offer admins full control over their accessibility, visibility, moderation, rules, and roles.
See below for more details on how members can customize the room experience to meet their individual needs:
Visibility & Accessibility
Different communities may have different desires for who can view and ultimately access their space. Some communities are meant to be public and invite members broadly across the Cantina who want to explore and share their interests. Other communities may want to create an invite- only experience for a more select group of users.

Moderation
Properly moderating a room is an important part of keeping a community a safe, inclusive and welcoming space. In order to empower admins and moderators to create the type of environment they want, we provide a host of settings and features for member permissions including who can go live, post media, send messages, signal members, send reactions and GIFs, add bots, etc.

Moderator Systems & Services
In addition to tools and features Cantina members can use to moderate their experience on Cantina, we also rely on a combination of automated systems and a team of T&S moderators to proactively detect, investigate, and enforce policy violations around the clock.
See more about our moderator systems and services below:
Automated Moderation
We deploy a robust set of visual and text classifiers across select surfaces of the app to proactively detect severe policy violations, taking direct action (such as blurring or blocking), or escalating for human review.
24/7 Moderator & Support
Outside of automated systems, we also employ a team of T&S and Support agents that are online 24/7 monitoring the safety of our platform. Cantina Moderators regularly join public rooms to enforce community guidelines and offer assistance for a safe and welcoming user experience. These agents have the ability to issue warnings, suspensions, bans, and file reports with law enforcement.
Policies for Users and Communities
Ensuring users have a safe and welcoming space to build communities is at the core of our product. We work in a continuous feedback loop with our members, partners, and regulators to ensure we have policies that reflect that commitment.
